Ibanez JS25th ART:

When these were announced I jumped in immediately and called every good connection I have in the guitar industry to get one. Only one guy – my buddy Brian – would take my deposit on one because with only 50 being produced, and of those 50, only 25 for the USA, there were no guarantees a store was going to get one to sell. He was very clear on that but I made the commitment anyway and collectively we crossed our fingers. Eventually, not only did he come through with the one I wanted the most (the purple skull NAMM guitar), he came through with this one too. Joe went crazy with characters on this guitar and it looks like he spent a ton of time on it. How’s it play? Come on…no one is playing these except for maybe Joe himself. From his website…”The Ibanez JS25ART is a JS guitar celebrating the 25th anniversary of the association and collaboration between Ibanez and Joe Satriani. The artwork painting of the JS25ART has been made by Joe Satriani himself in the Ibanez Custom Shop in Los Angeles, every guitar is a unique piece of art and are very different from each other. Following the advices of his sisters Jon and Carol who had already done artwork painting on the JS4 and JS5, Joe finds his own graphic artistic signature that reminds a bit Basquiat’s work.”
