Goldtop Wolfgangs are not hard to find…look at ebay and I’m sure there are a few available right now…but I’ve waited to add one to my Peavey group because I wanted a mint condition, first year example. The earlier Goldtops I’ve run across all seem to have paint adhesion issues – around the pickup cavities or neck pocket, the gold paint lifts and when it flakes off, your guitar looks like hell. This one has none of those issues. In fact, I don’t think this one has ever been seriously played. It was reportedly built for the NAMM show and displayed by Peavey, then sold to a collector and held as an investment. It came my way through my buddy Jim, and has all the original documentation Peavey provided with it.
